Meadow Mattress
The Meadow is soft sleeping done properly. Every filling inside it is natural, layered generously and finished by hand, so the surface welcomes you with a plush, gentle settle the moment you lie down.
Beneath that softness sits real structure. The calico spring core reads your weight and shape, then holds you steadily through the night. The result is a mattress that feels indulgent yet keeps your spine where it should be.
We build the Meadow in Britain with makers who have spent generations perfecting this craft. It is made for people who see a proper night of sleep as one of life's quiet luxuries.
- 2000 calico pocket springs
- 4600gsm natural fillings
- Two rows of hand stitching

Every layer, chosen with care
1 British Fleece Wool & Cotton
A plush comfort layer that sits above the support core. The blend of British fleece wool and cotton manages warmth and moisture through the night, keeping the sleeping surface fresh while gently shaping to your body for soft pressure relief.
2 Hand Teased Shropshire Wool
Teasing Shropshire wool by hand opens the fibre and gives it a dense, springy plushness underhand. The wool insulates in balance across the seasons, holding warmth in winter and staying cool through summer. It is naturally hypoallergenic and anti-static, and it resists dust mites and mould.
3 Hand Teased Loose Long Curled Horsetail
Horsetail is prized in traditional mattress making for its resilience. Each long strand holds its curl and springs back to shape time after time, acting as a natural spring within the fillings. It draws moisture away from the body and helps steady temperature while you sleep. Hand teasing opens the fibre further, creating a more breathable and more luxurious filling.
4 English Lambswool
Lambswool brings a soft, inviting feel to the comfort layers. It breathes naturally and holds warmth in balance, so the mattress stays comfortable in every season. Gentle pressure relief comes from the way the fibre shapes to your body, and its hypoallergenic character keeps the sleeping environment clean and healthy.
5 Natural Hessian
A sustainable insulating layer that shields the fillings from the spring unit. Hessian breathes freely and leaves each pocket spring to move independently beneath it.
6 2000 Calico Springs
Every spring is nested and tied by hand inside its own breathable calico pocket. Because each spring responds on its own, pressure on one leaves its neighbours settled, so you feel steady support when your partner turns in the night. The springs keep their elasticity and return to their exact shape after every compression, while the calico pockets let air travel through the whole mattress for a fresh, healthy sleeping environment.
7 Natural Hessian
A sustainable insulating layer that shields the fillings from the spring unit. Hessian breathes freely and leaves each pocket spring to move independently above it.
8 English Lambswool
Lambswool brings a soft, inviting feel to the comfort layers. It breathes naturally and holds warmth in balance, so the mattress stays comfortable in every season. Gentle pressure relief comes from the way the fibre shapes to your body, and its hypoallergenic character keeps the sleeping environment clean and healthy.

It draws moisture away from the body and helps steady temperature while you sleep. Hand teasing opens the fibre further, creating a more breathable and more luxurious filling.
10 Hand Teased Shropshire Wool

11 British Fleece Wool & Cotton
A plush comfort layer that mirrors the surface above, so the mattress can be turned and enjoyed on both sides. The blend of British fleece wool and cotton manages warmth and moisture through the night, keeping the sleeping surface fresh while gently shaping to your body for soft pressure relief.
How will it feel?
First contact is soft and velvety. The natural fillings shape themselves around your shoulders and hips, easing you into position with a gentle sink rather than a drop.
As you settle, the loft keeps adjusting to you. Turn over and it follows; stay still and it holds you. Because every layer breathes, warmth and moisture move away from your body all night, so you wake feeling rested rather than overheated.
The fillings decide the feel of a mattress. The spring tension decides the support, and it should be chosen by body weight and sleeping position alone. The Meadow has a soft feel with a slight, relaxing sink. It suits every sleeper and is at its best for side and back sleepers.

10 year guarantee
Every Meadow carries a 10 year guarantee. If a fault appears in the materials or the workmanship within that time, we will repair or replace the faulty component at our cost. A mattress should show only the honest signs of a decade of good sleep; a failed component is different, and that is exactly what the guarantee covers. One email to sales@shloff.com starts the process.
Delivery, done gently
The Meadow is dispatched free in 5 to 7 weeks to mainland UK. Our courier confirms your date by text, then calls or messages ahead of the day with a 3 hour slot you can accept or move. On the day, a two person team carries it carefully to the room you choose. Deliveries run Monday to Saturday, 7am to 9pm.
Preparing for delivery
Have the room clear and ready, and take down mirrors, pictures and ornaments along the route.
Offshore addresses
Deliveries to the Isle of Wight, Isle of Man, Guernsey and Jersey are doorstep only.
Failed deliveries
Where goods come back to us because of access problems or nobody being home, rearranging delivery carries a charge of £43 to £256, with your first delivery free. Changes to address, availability or date within 48 hours of the slot count as a failed delivery.
Damage waiver
The team may ask you to sign a property damage waiver before carrying items upstairs. Declining to sign may mean the delivery is treated as failed.

FAQs
Can I really design my own bed?
Yes. You choose the shape, the size, the fabric and the finish, and we build to that exact spec. Start with a frame you like, set your size, then pick your fabric. Every bed leaves the workshop made for one home: yours.
Where are Shloff beds made?
Every bed is handcrafted to order in Britain by skilled makers. Because we build to order, your bed is made specifically for you once your choices are confirmed.
Can I see a bed before I order?
Yes. Our Prestwich showroom has our beds and fabrics on display, and you are welcome to sit, lie down and feel the quality for yourself. Walk in during opening hours, or book a slot ahead if you would like one of the team to talk you through the options.
Can I get fabric swatches?
Yes. Order a swatch pack and we will post samples of your shortlisted fabrics, so you can see the colour and feel the weave in your own room before you commit.
What sizes do you make?
We make Super King, King, Double and Small Double. These are standard UK sizes, which means your existing mattresses, linen and toppers will fit.
What does delivery include?
Our team brings your bed in, assembles it in the room you choose and takes the packaging away, so it is ready to use the day it arrives.
Can you take away my old bed?
Yes, just let us know when you order and we will arrange to remove your old bed for recycling on delivery day.
Is my payment secure?
Yes. Payments are processed securely through Square, and your card details are encrypted in transit. We never see or store your full card number.
Do your beds come with a guarantee?
Yes. Each frame is built to last and covered by a 10-year guarantee.
My tastes change over time. Can you re-cover a bed?
A bed you love should keep up with your room. Ask us about re-covering an existing Shloff frame in a fresh fabric.
How do I care for my fabric?
Regular light vacuuming keeps the fabric fresh, and most marks lift with gentle spot cleaning. We include a care guide matched to the fabric you choose.

What our customers think
It is just amazing the beds they have. The quality, the styles, the colours, the feel. These are beds you usually see in hotels and dream about. Max the owner was absolutely fantastic and very knowledgeable. I have only had my bed for a few days and I really love it. It wasn't cheap but you get what you pay for. Well done Max for bringing this amazing shop to the high street.
Ryan ParkerI purchased a Mal Maison Super King Size bed recently and it's one of the best purchases I've made. Max was fantastic, very patient with us! I highly recommend Shloff. The bed is marvellous.
Ant DI had a great experience walking into the Shloff showroom. Max on sales took me through the ways I could customise the beds. The beds themselves are stunning. Needless to say, I placed my order, and very much looking forward to receiving it in a few weeks.
